Wealthy French families, corporate giants and ordinary citizens responded to the French government's call for Our Lady of Paris, as after the initial shock the question is what will happen from now on.

So far, more than 1 billion euros have been raised in the special account opened for the restoration of the emblematic monument.

The first to announce his donation was Henry Pino, the CEO of the Kering Group, which owns some of the most famous fashion houses, such as Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Enri Pino will donate 100 million euros, the same amount will be offered by Total, while LVMH and L'Oreal donated 200 million.

Donations from large groups are expected to increase as companies such as Michelin and BNP Paribas have stated that they are working on exactly how to participate in the restoration project. Air France, for its part, intends to offer free tickets to those traveling to Paris to help rebuild.

More moving, however, is the response from ordinary citizens, Catholic associations and small towns around the world.
