A horrific accident occurred in the California countryside, a real tragedy that took the lives of 9 people, 7 of whom were children.
The frontal collision of the two vehicles took place on New Year's Eve on a state highway.
The 28-year-old driver of a Dodge probably lost control of the vehicle and collided with a passing Ford, in which an adult and 7 children were riding, according to the announcement of the local police department secured by the Los Angeles Times.
From the violent collision, Ford was engulfed in flames. All 9 passengers lost their lives on the spot. Their bodies have not yet been identified.
"There are no witnesses," police officer Rory Marks told the newspaper, admitting that the causes of the tragic accident were not yet known.
