Catalan pro-independence parties are losing the parliamentary majority they won in the previous elections, according to a poll published today by the newspaper El Mundo.
However, the small difference recorded in the survey foretells a fierce battle between the two sides in the December elections.
The poll was conducted from last Monday to Thursday, as the Spanish government was preparing to take control of Catalonia, whose parliament unilaterally declared independence on Friday.
Pro-independence parties receive 42.5% of the vote, while pro-independence parties receive 43.4%, according to a Sigma Dos poll of 1000 people.
