What does the agreement on Iran's nuclear program provide?

Donald Trump is once again shaking the waters of international relations, as he announced the withdrawal of the United States from the agreement on Iran's nuclear program. So what does this agreement provide?

5 + 1 countries

The deal is between Iran and six other countries (the United States, Britain, Russia, France, China and Germany) and aims to limit Iran's program in exchange for easing international sanctions on the country.

This is one of the greatest achievements of the Obama administration.

Limit in the celestial

Enriched uranium along with a strong isotope concentration (U-235) could be used to create a bomb. The agreement stipulates that Tehran will not have accumulated more than 3,67% uranium and prohibits the possession of more than 660 kg of fortified uranium.

No more centrifuges

In fact, with the agreement, it had to shut down about 20,000 centrifuges needed to separate uranium with U-235, located at the Natanz and Fordow facilities. Under the agreement, Iran can use older centrifuge models at the Natanz facility and not more than 5,060.

Limit on plutonium as well

Another way to create a nuclear bomb is by using plutonium, and more specifically through a specialized process and a nuclear reactor called "heavy water".

Tehran has one such reactor at its disposal in Arak, but the agreement requires it not to be used. In fact, it must modify the facilities so that it does not produce waste.

Inspections

Due to the lack of confidence in the agreement, there is a condition that Iran's facilities can be inspected at any time and without restriction on all facilities "that may be considered suspicious".

Sanctions: OK

Iran has accepted all of the above conditions. Prior to the deal, more than $ 100 billion in Tehran funds had been consolidated due to international sanctions. With the lifting of sanctions, Iran can sell oil and export to international markets. The agreement also lifts US sanctions on Iran and those who have trade talks with it.
