As of today, the two bills passed yesterday by the Plenary Session of the Parliament, regarding the penalties for the companies that violate the decrees regarding the measures against the coronaio, are being implemented.

Specifically, there are now five categories of premises based on the area of the beneficial customer service space and according to the Minister of Justice, extrajudicial fines are now provided for first and second or continuing infringement, when the provision for the third infringement is eliminated.

The amendments, which are now state law, stipulate that out-of-court fines start at 500 euros for the first infringement of smaller assets, while businesses are divided into:

- Businesses with a useful customer service area of up to 50 sq.m.

- Businesses with a useful customer service area of 51 sq.m. up to 101 sq.m.

- Businesses, with a useful customer service area of 101 sq.m. up to 200 sq.m.

- Businesses, with a useful customer service area of more than 201 sq.m.

The fifth category, incorporated today, provides that:

- Businesses, with a useful customer service area of more than 500 sq.m., in case of first violation the extrajudicial fine amounts to € 8.000 and second or subsequent violations to € 16.000.

Regarding the issuance of a notice of suspension of operation of a business or premises:

- It is possible for a member of the Police to enter any property or company freely and without prior notice.

- If he considers that an offense is being committed under the law, he should contact the Chief of Police. Upon the order of the owner or administrator, a notice of prohibition of the use of the premises, business or premises shall be issued for a period not exceeding five (5) days.

- The prohibition notice may be withdrawn, by order of the Chief of Police, at any time.

- Anyone who considers that he has been wronged has the right to appeal to the Minister of Justice. However, the prohibition notification shall remain in force unless amended or revoked by the Minister of Justice.

It is noted that during yesterday's debate in the Plenary Session, many MPs stressed that the abuse of power should be avoided, so that the phenomena of the past are not repeated.
