At 12:00 noon the Minister of Health Konstantinos Ioannou will announce the new measures to reduce the outbreak of coronavirus in the community. The meeting of the President of the Republic with the epidemiological team will precede at 9:00 in the morning, where the new measures will be "locked".

According to information, the Minister of Health is expected to present two packages of measures, one more stringent for the period before the holidays and the other with relaxations from December 23 until the feast of the Epiphany, in January 2021.

The Cypriot measures are expected to add some more to the existing ones. One of the thoughts is to close schools earlier and to continue the lessons through distance learning. It has not been decided whether it will be all or some levels.

In the meantime, the ban on traffic at night, the restriction of gatherings in houses and the closing of restaurants earlier will be maintained.
In Limassol, it is expected that the measure of traffic restrictions for those leaving and those entering the province will be lifted. If there is a significant improvement, then the pan-Cypriot restrictions will apply in Limassol as well.

It is recalled that yesterday (26/11) the Ministry of Health announced a death and 220 cases of coronavirus, while at the same time another 103 positive results were detected from a rapid antigen test (rapid test).

Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 9,673 and the death toll is 48.
