The next 24 hours are crucial for the management of the pandemic with the possibility of taking additional measures visible. Amid the increase in new cases of the virus, the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipandelas is expected to convene a meeting with the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee. Cases and hospitalizations are under the microscope of those in charge, with experts focusing on possible more stringent measures such as reducing the number of people in gatherings.
It is recalled that based on the measures in force, the gatherings in homes amount to 20 people, including children.
"What will determine the next steps, is the hard index of hospitalizations and especially of those who need hospitalization in an intensive care unit. "If the number of coronavirus patients increases dramatically in the next twenty-four hours, then the tightening of measures will be a one-way street," said on Sunday, the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipandelas.
"If we see that the cases and the positivity rate are high as well as the hospitalizations, because fortunately we saw yesterday we had a significant reduction in hospitalizations, if these two are high then we will consult the scientific advisory committee to see if we should receive additional measures ".
