The news of the excommunication of the blessed Archbishop Chrysostom II, caused us deep sadness. Leadership, MPs and executives express their sincere condolences.
The late hierarch, active in ecclesiastical affairs from a young age, was claimed to lead as pastor of the church of Cyprus and to play an important role with his important legacy being the expansion of the metropolises, the establishment of the theological school and the modernization of ecclesiastical institutions in our place. A spiritual leader with prestige, ecclesiastical attitude and always with the courage of his word but also with his unquenchable and lasting interest in the future of Cypriot Hellenism.
An example of a bishop who will hold a special place as a spiritual father in the hearts of all those who knew him and walked with him.
With his memory flooding the souls of all of us, we will always remember him with love and due respect.
The Democratic Alert, as a sign of mourning and respect, suspends the pre-election activities planned by Averof Neophytos' election staff until the day of his funeral.
