The Police arrested a 56-year-old man yesterday, to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of sexual exploitation of adults and indecent assault against a woman.
The above offenses were allegedly committed in Nicosia, between September 2022 and July 2023, with a 34-year-old female victim, a domestic worker.
As part of the investigation of the case and for the purposes of facilitating the investigations, a judicial arrest warrant was issued against the 56-year-old, under which he was arrested yesterday and taken into custody.
Today the 56-year-old was brought before the District Court of Nicosia, where a case was registered against him. The Court adjourned the case to December 18 and ordered the 56-year-old defendant to be released, with conditions imposed by the Court to ensure his attendance at the next hearing.
At the same time, the District Court issued an order that prohibits the 56-year-old from calling or communicating either by electronic means, audio means, or via the Internet with the 34-year-old complainant and which also prohibits him from approaching the 34-year-old, at a distance of less than 100 meters.
The Office Against Trafficking in Persons had investigated the case.
