The District Court of Limassol issued a detention order for a period of eight days against the 33-year-old, who was arrested as a suspect for the murder of 58-year-old Christos Siakos, in the area of the Monastery.

Relatives of the victim were found in court, while the presence of the Police was intense to prevent any incidents.

The 33-year-old continues to deny that he caused the death of the 58-year-old, deliberately dragging him with his car and claims that he was not at the scene.

The court approved the request of the Police for his 8-day detention in connection with a case of premeditated murder.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the victim, along with his 25-year-old son, met at a specific location with the alleged perpetrator, who was later located and arrested at his home in Larnaca province.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Limassol General Hospital, where around 06.00 he succumbed to his injuries.

The motive for the criminal act is said to have been various that arose for an illegal transaction, as the head of the Limassol Police Department, Lefteris Kyriakou, stated yesterday.
