The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, in collaboration with the Undersecretary of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, is in consultation with electronic platforms for the marketing of products developed on a private initiative, with the aim of promoting quality and freshness via the internet. products, directly from the producer to the consumer.

An announcement from the Ministry states that the platforms will offer free hosting of the producers' products for a period of a few months, while at the same time they will give the opportunity to the farmers to register for the next period, with a very low charge. The marketing of agricultural products through the platforms will be governed by all relevant Community and national legislation concerning quality criteria, as well as issues of product safety and consumer health.

In this effort, the role of the Local Action Groups is important, which, as Development Companies, ensure the sustainable development of the countryside as well as the implementation of local strategies. The assistance of Agricultural Organizations is equally important, as, together with the Local Action Groups, they will offer producers information, guidance and support services, so that they can smoothly and effectively integrate and promote their products through the channels of online distribution and sale. . Already, this week, in collaboration with the Local Action Groups and the Agricultural Organizations, the effort for familiarization, information and integration of the producers in the new electronic tools has started, so that the consumers will soon be able to visit their electronic "counters". , whatever time of the day suits them, and order easily and quickly, fresh and healthy products.

For the success and better organization of the whole effort, all interested producers are invited to contact the relevant Local Action Team and Agricultural Organizations, to be informed about it.
