The President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, will have a telephone conversation during the day about the immigration with the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is currently visiting the border area of Evros accompanied by EU officials, said Government Spokesman Kyriakos Κούσιος.
Mr. Kousios said that Cyprus is already facing this problem, adding that "at the moment we are talking about 100 people have gathered on the front line and are seeking political asylum". He added that "we also have information about new flows of refugees from Turkey".
The spokesman said that it was deemed appropriate to have a meeting of the inter-ministerial committee on immigration, which will be convened today.
