Three people were arrested in Larnaca for facilitating police investigations into an investigated case of vehicle theft, military rifle and ammunition and illegal possession and supply of drugs.
A written announcement of the Communication Office of the Police Headquarters states that "the case was reported to the Police last Saturday, November 20, by a resident of Larnaca. According to the complainant, around noon of the same day, strangers stole his car that was parked on a road in Larnaca, inside which he had his military rifle and a number of bullets ".
It is added that "in the context of the investigation of the case, after evaluating relevant information, members of the Police located, around 7 pm on Tuesday, November 23, the stolen car in the parking lot of an apartment building in Larnaca. A 16-year-old man was found outside the vehicle, who was in possession of a nylon bag, inside which was the stolen military rifle, while in the same area, four empty rifle cartridges of a military rifle were also found ".
The 16-year-old was arrested for a felony and was remanded in custody for facilitation.
According to the announcement, "from the continuation of the investigation of the case, a testimony was secured against a 21-year-old and a 23-year-old. The two were found in a hotel room, located close to the apartment building, where the car was found. "
A search of the room turned up "a small amount of drugs and a container of drugs, which were confiscated."
Arrest warrants were issued against the three suspects, under which they were arrested and detained to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Police Department.
