Members of the Police (Headquarters Traffic Department), while on motor patrol yesterday afternoon, stopped for a check on the Nicosia - Limassol highway, a car driven by a 26-year-old man.
In a search that was carried out, in the luggage compartment of the vehicle, two car engines were found, for which the 26-year-old was unable to give sufficient explanations about their origin, as a result of which he was arrested for an unprovoked offence.
From further examinations that followed, it was established that the two machines had been stolen from an open area located in a village in the province of Nicosia.
Today, the 26-year-old is expected to be brought before the District Court of Nicosia, for immediate registration of the case.
