The yellow warning issued by the Meteorological Service is in effect until 5:00 pm.
Isolated strong storms are expected to initially affect the northern, western and southern coasts and gradually the rest of the regions.
In such a case, the intensity of the rain is expected to vary between 35 and 50 millimeters per hour, while hail is also possible.

Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains and isolated storms are expected, while sleet or even snow is expected on the highest peaks of Troodos. In a storm, it is very likely that hail will fall, while locally the effects may be prolonged or even intense. Winds will be mainly south to southwest and in the afternoon locally to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the afternoon transient to very strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a bit rough. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees in the interior, around 16 on the coasts and around 5 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mainly cloudy and isolated showers are expected in places, while on the western and northern coasts, localized showers or isolated thunderstorms are expected at intervals. On the highest peaks of Troodos, sleet or even snow is expected. Winds will be mainly west to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be a bit rough. The temperature will drop to around 9 degrees in the interior, around 11 on the coast and around 2 degrees in the higher mountains, where locally frost is expected to form.
On Sunday, the weather will be mostly cloudy with localized rain and isolated thunderstorms as well as snow or sleet locally in the higher mountains. In a storm, it is very likely that hail will fall, while locally the effects may be prolonged or even intense.
On Monday, periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness, which is expected to give isolated rain or even a thunderstorm. On Tuesday, the weather will be mostly clear.
On Sunday, the temperature is not expected to change significantly, remaining below the average climatic values. By Tuesday, however, a gradual rise in temperature is expected to fluctuate on Tuesday close to the average climatic values.
