From the new school year, Security Supervisors will be installed in all Lyceums, Extraordinary Schools and Technical and Vocational Schools of Education and Training.
As announced, the Council of Ministers today approved a proposal by the Ministry of Education and Culture to strengthen security measures in schools. In particular, Security Supervisors will be placed in schools, with the purchase of services by private security companies or approved private guards.
The measure will be implemented in the 38 public Lyceums, in the 6 Extraordinary Schools and in the 11 Technical and Vocational Schools of Education and Training (a total of 55 school units), from September 1, 2019.
The Security Supervisors will be in the schools every day from 7: 00-14: 00 and will have specific duties related to the safety of the school space, the employees in the schools and all the visitors in these spaces.
Based on the evaluation that will result from the implementation of the measure, its expansion in the Gymnasiums will be examined in the future.
