At the end of June, the electronic identity and signature in Cyprus is coming to untie our hands.
Speaking on the program Protoselido, the Minister of Research and Innovation stated that the national plan of the Deputy Ministry of Innovation for the implementation of the electronic identity and electronic signature, for the identification of the citizen's data and the conduct of electronic transactions, is ready.
As the Minister of Research and Innovation mentioned on the Front Page show, the provider is JCC Payment Services and the citizen can at any time, either electronically or in person, request an electronic identity and signature.
"I want to be honest with the world. The JCC has a cost of around 50 euros for three years, but I have requested that this cost be borne by the Government," he said.
He also noted that the electronic identity is a valuable tool that will give us access to all government services. It is expected to make the daily life of Cypriots easier, especially for those filling out applications for benefits.
