GESS: Inclusion of new services from December 1st

Tuesday, 1η December 2020 has been set by the Health Insurance Organization (OAY) as the date of inclusion in the GESS of the services of preventive dentistry and outpatient services for the professions of General Nursing, Mental Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists .

As mentioned in an announcement of OAY, the registrations and the conclusion of a contract for the above providers have started and are in progress. Beneficiaries will be able to see these providers from the GESS website (www.gesy.org.cy) within the next few days, through the "Provider Search" link, after completing the process of registering and concluding a contract with the Organization.

Informing beneficiaries about outpatient physiotherapy services

Services covered: Outpatient physiotherapy services which include individual assessment and treatment services.

Access to physiotherapy services:  Access to outpatient physiotherapy services will be done after referral from the selected medical specialties and if one of the diagnoses mentioned in the diagnostic tables is valid for referral to an adult and child physiotherapist (the diagnostic tables will be posted on the GESSY website).

The beneficiaries, if they provide a referral, select the physiotherapist they want to visit from the list of physiotherapists participating in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of physiotherapy sessions per diagnosis, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System for the specific diagnosis, the doctor will inform who will refer to physiotherapist services and will be posted on the website of GESS.

Supplement payment: The beneficiary pays a supplement of ten (10) euros for each session with a physiotherapist.

The physicians who refer to Physiotherapy services are - Adult PI, Pediatric PI (Pediatricians), Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery / Gastroenterology Surgery, Geriatrics, Specialization in Intensive Care, Intensive Care Pediatric Neurology, Cardiology, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Pathology, Pathology Oncology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Plastic Surgery, Pulmonology-Tuberculosis, Pulmonary Surgery, Rheumatology, Stomatology , Pediatric Surgery and Otolaryngology.

Beneficiary Information for Outpatient Mental Nursing Services

Services covered: Outpatient mental health nursing services which include support services, individual and group treatment and home services.

Access to Nursing Mental Health services:  Access to outpatient mental health services will be made after referral by the medical specialties listed below.

The beneficiaries, if they provide a referral, select the provider from which they wish to receive services from the list of providers participating in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of mental health nursing sessions, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System will be informed by the doctor who will refer to mental health services and will be posted on the website of GESS.

Supplement payment: The beneficiary pays a supplement of six (6) euros for each session with a mental health nurse.

Specialist doctors who refer to Nursing Mental Health Services - Specialization in Pediatric Neurology, Neurology, Pediatrics, Child Psychiatry, Psychiatry.

It is noted that Personal Physicians do not refer to mental health nursing services.

Information of beneficiaries for Outpatient Services of Clinical Psychology

Yservices covered: Outpatient clinical psychology services which include specialized evaluation services, psychological diagnostic and treatment interventions at individual and group level.

Access to Clinical Psychology services:  Access to outpatient services of clinical psychology will be done after referral from the medical specialties listed below and if one of the diagnoses mentioned in the diagnostic tables is valid for referral to a clinical psychologist for adults and children (the diagnostic tables will be posted on the GESSY website) .

The beneficiaries, if they provide a referral, select the clinical psychologist they wish to visit from the list of clinical psychologists participating in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of clinical psychology sessions per diagnosis, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System for the specific diagnosis will be informed by the doctor who will refer to the services of a clinical psychologist and will be posted on the website of GESS.

Beneficiary information for Home Nursing Services Community Nursing

Access to home community nursing services:  Access to home general nursing services will be made upon referral by PI or EI and is provided to beneficiaries who have been registered by PI as "recumbent" beneficiaries.

A "recumbent" beneficiary is one who, due to serious health problems, is required to have his / her health care services provided at home.

The beneficiaries, if they secure a referral, select the provider they wish to provide home services from the list of providers participating in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of sessions of home general nursing services per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System, the doctor will inform who will refer to home general nursing services and will be posted on the website of GESS.

Supplement payment: The beneficiary pays a supplement of six (6) euros for each home nursing session.

Access to Occupational Therapy services:  Access to outpatient occupational therapy services will be made after referral by the medical specialties listed below and if one of the diagnoses mentioned in the diagnostic tables is valid for referral to an adult and child occupational therapist (the diagnostic tables will be posted on the GESSY website).

The beneficiaries, if they obtain a referral, select the occupational therapist who wishes to provide them with services from the list of occupational therapists participating in the GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of occupational therapy sessions per diagnosis, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of sessions per diagnosis covered by the System, the doctor will inform who will refer to occupational therapy services and will be available on the website of GESS.

Access to Clinical Dietetics services:  Access to outpatient clinical diet services will be made after referral by the medical specialties listed below and if one of the diagnoses listed in the diagnostic tables is valid for referral to a clinical dietitian for adults and children (diagnostic tables will be posted on the GESY website) .

The beneficiaries, if they provide a referral, select the clinical dietitian they want to visit from the list of clinical dietitians who participate in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of clinical diet sessions per diagnosis, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System for the specific diagnosis, the doctor will inform who will refer to the services of a clinical dietitian and will be available on the website of GESS.

Access to speech therapy services:  Access to outpatient speech therapy services will be made after referral from the medical specialties listed below and if one of the symptoms / diagnoses mentioned in the symptom tables for referral to a speech therapist is valid (the tables will be posted on the GESS website).

The beneficiaries, if they provide a referral, select the speech therapist they wish to visit from the list of speech therapists who participate in GESS and make an appointment.

It is noted that GESS will cover a specific maximum number of speech therapy sessions per symptom, per beneficiary, per year. For the maximum number of visits covered by the System for the specific symptom, the doctor will inform who will refer to speech therapist services and will be available on the website of GESS ..
