Gioliti: I wish there was no need to give any out-of-court settlement

"We need to ensure that the measures are complied with as much as possible"

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Emily Giolitis, clarified the new measures of the Government, especially in the areas of Limassol and Paphos, for the measures of the Government to prevent the spread of the virus.

He specifically stated:

"The epidemiological picture of the country leaves no other room for the State to take stricter measures. From the first moment, the protection of human life was non-negotiable for the State. However, in order for the measures and sacrifices that we will suffer to be of substantial value, we need to ensure that they are met to the fullest extent possible. This is a mission of the Ministry of Justice, the Police Force and members of the National Guard, who will assist in our work.

We have no choice and there is no other priority than securing the supreme good, life. There is an urgent need to strictly monitor the new measures in order to prevent further spread of the virus.

Our police officers, who will be on the front line to monitor the measures and the members of the National Guard are neither enemies nor punitive. They are on duty in unprecedented circumstances to ensure that the sacrifices of the vast majority of our fellow citizens are not wasted. They are on duty to protect all of us from the invisible enemy and its spread. They also have families, grandparents and friends. In this battle it does not mean that there are camps and counterattacks. In this battle we are all a fist, we are together and not opposite. We are all against the virus. It is time for maximum mobilization against the Pandemic. Of individual and collective responsibility, which we have so unabashedly and sparingly demonstrated in the recent past.

By the way, I would like to thank the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard for their assistance to the work of the Police and the common battle we are all waging to prevent the further spread of the virus.

None of us wants to live under conditions of restriction. I hope that no out-of-court settlement is required and that this will happen if we all respect the measures. Let me note the following about my city Limassol and my hometown, Paphos. It was never a goal and we would never want to create two-speed cities and citizens. The task of local locks is not easy. But this shows the epidemiological picture of the cities, this is what the experts suggested in order to get back on our feet as soon as possible, we listened to them and we will apply this. I am from Limassol and I know that my fellow citizens, as well as the Paphites, will be tested especially. But I know that we have the mental reserves and we will do everything we have to do.

I understand the fatigue that occurred, the fear and anxiety that prevails. We and our families feel them. The implementation of the measures by all of us, will bring us one step closer to normalcy, closer to our old daily life. In contact, without fear, with our people. In the protection of vulnerable groups. The more we discipline ourselves for the measures, for this period of two weeks, the closer we will lead to a safe Christmas for us and our families. To celebrate them in the smoothest possible conditions and not to miss anyone from our company.

I call on everyone to ally with the State, to put a stop to the further spread of the virus. I urge you to implement the announced measures and follow the instructions. It takes teamwork to achieve what we all want, a return to normalcy. There is no one left in this fight. With prudence, obedience and determination.

Good strength to all ".
