The roads leading to Troodos are closed for all vehicles, as the Cyprus Police announced on Friday morning.

According to the announcement, the roads Platron-Troodos, Karvouna-Troodos and Prodromou-Troodos are closed for all vehicles.

According to the Police, other roads in the mountainous areas of Limassol and Morphou, are open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-skid chains.

These are the roads: Pedoula-Prodromou, Pedoula-Pine Wood - Kakopetria, Kyperounta-Agrou, Karvouna-Kyperounta, Kyperounta-Chandria, Chandria-Agrou, Agrou-Papoutsas, Papoutsas-Agios Theodoros.

The roads Pedoula-Kykkou and Kakopetria-Pedoula are open to all vehicles, however the road is very slippery due to frost.

Police recommend special attention to those who travel on the road network of mountainous areas, while drivers are called to move at a safe, low speed, to maintain a safe distance from oncoming vehicles, and to give priority to other passing drivers where necessary.

It is pointed out that the situation on the road network is changing due to the prevailing winter conditions.
