The Paphos authorities handcuffed a 22-year-old Greek Cypriot, regarding a case of arson of a 22-year-old Syrian vehicle, which was committed on Wednesday (1/6).

According to 24news, the 22-year-old had friendly relations with the complainant, however, the vehicle in question seems to have been the reason for them to "break" them.

Specifically, according to the information, the two had a disagreement on who will have the specific vehicle since, the 22-year-old claims how she bought it, however the 22-year-old was in front of her.

The 22-year-old, for his part, disagrees with the 22-year-old since, as we are informed, he says that he is the person who spent the money to buy the car.

Eventually the vehicle ended up in the young man, which infuriated the 22-year-old, who allegedly set it on fire.

The 22-year-old was arrested after a testimony was obtained against her and she is expected to be brought before the Paphos District Court for a detention order.

The timing of the arson

According to the information under investigation, shortly after 3.50 am on Wednesday (1/6), a fire broke out in a car, which was parked outside the apartment building where the 22-year-old responsible driver of the vehicle resides.

The fire, which had occurred on the wheel of the vehicle, was noticed by a familiar face of the 22-year-old, who managed to put it out before it spread.

Examinations at the scene by members of the Police and the Fire Service followed and it was found that the fire in the vehicle had been set maliciously.

The case is being investigated by TAE Paphos.
