The Police is conducting intensive investigations to locate the perpetrators in the case of the robbery of a house with a booty of 70 thousand euros last Friday.

According to Michalis Ioannou, Assistant Police Director of Paphos and Spokesperson of the Paphos Police Department, an arrest warrant has been issued for the case against a 53-year-old woman.

Mr. Ioannou noted that after examinations it was found that the 53-year-old, who had friendly and family relations with the 64-year-old complainant from abroad, the owner of the house, was the only person who knew about the existence of the money. Mr. Ioannou noted that the 53-year-old is considered a "key" person for the investigation of the case, stating that it becomes necessary to arrest her, which so far has not been possible.

The robbery, he said, was committed on Friday afternoon in the "Universal" area in a house owned by a 64-year-old man with the loot of 70 thousand euros.

Mr. Ioannou stated that according to the complaint, around 15:00 on Friday afternoon, three people who according to the 64-year-old owner of the house were wearing hats, black clothes and protective masks for COVID-19, also in black, entered his house and after beating him, took the amount of 70 thousand euros in cash from his residence.

The complainant withdrew his money from the bank in the last days in order to leave for his homeland, he added.

Immediately after, the perpetrators left the house running. According to the complainant, during the attack, the alleged perpetrators spoke to the complainant in Russian, asking him for money.

Members of TAE Paphos, continued Mr. Ioannou, went to the stage which they excluded while the examinations continue. The complainant suffered injuries in various parts of his body but is in good health and is not in any danger.
