A small increase in the registration of coronavirus cases has been observed in Cyprus recently, but this is not at all alarming, assures the Press Representative of the State Health Services Organization (OKYpY) Charalambos Charilaou.

"It's not alarming, we had a small increase, it's to be expected. No issue is raised. It is summer vacation, there is a crowd of people, the measures have been relaxed as in all countries, there is no issue of concern", said Mr. Harilaou to KYPE.

In relation to admissions, around 30 patients are currently hospitalized, one person is hospitalized in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit and two others in the Extended Care Unit. The incidents mainly involve the elderly.

"These are mild incidents, we are not worried at all," added Mr. Harilaou.
