The businesses of catering and entertainment centers were full of people during the three days of March 25 and also the day before Clean Monday, according to the president of the Federation of Recreation Center Owners (OSIKA) Phyto Thrasyvoulos, who noted that the attendance ranged between 80-90% throughout Cyprus, while in the coastal areas it reached 100%.
In his statements to the KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulos expressed the hope that the next three days will also provide a "financial injection" and relief to businessmen. The leisure centers, he continued, "had their due" and all the coastal catering centers, from Pyrgos Tellyrias to Ayia Napa, were booked, noting the "financial injection" from local customers until the start of the tourist season.
He added that at the present stage, mainly in the coastal areas of Paphos and the free area of Famagusta, there is no satisfactory traffic of tourists from other countries.
We hope, continued Mr. Thrasyvoulos, that the next three days will work the same with the visitation of the leisure centers "so that businesses can take a breather".
Yesterday, Monday, the day of March 25, the fish taverns had their honor, offering fresh fish, he said.
Asked about this, Mr. Thrasyvoulos expressed moderate optimism for the new tourist season and wished that we reach last year's levels. Certainly, he added, many efforts are being made with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism. We, he continued, "have stated our positions and opinions, that we must slowly build and create new perspectives with new flights from new destinations, so that the world with the new data can choose and go to the country they want ", concluded.
