The World Health Organization reaffirmed today, Monday (30/01), that the coronavirus remains a global threat to public health. In particular, the WHO maintains the state of emergency that has been declared worldwide for almost three years.
The International Health Regulations Emergency Committee expressed its concern about the continuing risk posed by COVID-19, as stated in an official WHO announcement.
The pandemic is likely in transition and needs careful management to "mitigate potential negative consequences," the statement said.
