A 30-year-old woman from Hungary, who was carried away, late on Thursday afternoon, by a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old woman, on Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, in Limassol, is hospitalized in an extremely critical condition, intubated, at the General Hospital of Nicosia.
As Limassol's assistant traffic officer Emilios Kafas stated on the scene, the traffic accident occurred around 18:30, "in which a car moving on the road hit and dragged a pedestrian crossing the road."
The injured woman was taken to the Limassol General Hospital where it was found that she had suffered a severe brain injury and brain hematoma and had to be intubated and transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital.
"The police are in the initial stages of the examinations to ascertain the exact circumstances under which the accident occurred", added Mr. Kafas.
The 45-year-old driver was arrested to facilitate investigations, while she was subjected to a breathalyzer and drug test, with a negative result.
