At low levels, around 20% - 30%, the number of visitors to leisure centers today, according to the President of the Federation of Leisure Center Owners Associations (OSIKA), Neophyto Thrasyvoulou.

In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Thrasyvoulou said that if the weather conditions continue to be favorable and the rest of Europe are in good epidemiological condition, then there is a possibility that Cyprus will receive people during the holidays.

The President of OSIKA also noted that the tourist season has been extended and that until From November 15 to 20, 50% of the world was trafficked. Asked about this, Mr. Thrasyvoulou said that they follow the developments in all countries of the world, also understand the efforts made by the State and embrace as OSIKA the views and suggestions of epidemiologists for the good of Cyprus and the economy in general.

In relation to the new measures, he pointed out that they affect their industry. It is clear, he said, that "parents are reacting and this will have an impact on the food industry especially when families move with their children".

He added that they have sent their own suggestions to the Minister of Health. We, he continued, ask that it be accepted that everyone, at least outdoors, be allowed to move around after a PCR or rapid test without imposing the 1st or 2nd dose of the vaccine.

At the same time, he expressed the hope that the people with the margins given by the Minister will be sensitized to be vaccinated.

He added that an industry that has been suffering for twenty months and has worked for the last three months must continue to work smoothly so as not to create huge financial problems for businesses and entrepreneurs.

He also estimated that from December 1, most businesses will start closing. He added that 20% of businesses did not reopen in the outgoing summer season and it is doubtful whether they will reopen in the next tourist season.

He also called on the state and the State to support the recreation centers that have been left open.
