Police arrested a 44-year-old man yesterday to facilitate investigations into an investigated case of child pornography.
The case is under investigation, following information that reached the Police from Europol.
According to the European organization, a specific social media user, who owns two accounts in this medium, sent a video file through them, which is related to sexual abuse of minors.
An investigation by the Electronic Crime Bureau found that he was a 44-year-old resident of Nicosia, against whom a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
The 44-year-old was located yesterday afternoon in Nicosia and was arrested, while a mobile phone was found and confiscated in his possession.
His arrest was followed by a search of his home, where three computers were found and confiscated, which together with the confiscated mobile phone will be subject to judicial control.
The Office for Combating Cybercrime is investigating the case.
