Members of the Cybercrime Prosecution Division, in collaboration with members of the Forensic Electronic Data Laboratory, conducted a search warrant today at noon, in the apartment of a 27-year-old in the Larnaca province.
The investigation was preceded by information from Europol, which led the 27-year-old to have sent to other users, 26 files of sexual abuse of minors through a social networking platform. Two mobile phones belonging to the 27-year-old were received from the house, which will undergo further legal examinations.
Also, during the search, 13 cannabis plants were found in specially designed areas of the apartment. YKAN (Larnaca Ladder) was immediately called for further information.
The 27-year-old was arrested and placed in custody while the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch in collaboration with YKAN (Larnaca Branch) continue the investigations.
