A 45-year-old resident of a village in the Larnaca province was arrested yesterday by the Police, in order to facilitate the investigations regarding the investigated cases of money laundering with false representations.
The 45-year-old was facing court orders for three cases of extortion with false statements, which were reported to the Police in recent months.
According to the examined data, the 45-year-old allegedly approached citizens, as an importer and seller of cars and agreed with them, for the sale of cars. For this purpose, it is alleged that in all three cases he received sums of money from the complainants as a deposit, without, however, receiving the vehicles.
The Pera Chorio Police Station and the Nicosia Police Department are investigating the three cases.
