Immediate and catalytic was the help of members of the Police, regarding the release of two minor children, aged 11 and 15, who were trapped in a ravine 150 meters deep in Troodos, according to a statement.
The information given to the Police around 12.30 at noon stated that two minor boys, while they were playing near a snowstorm, due to the icy ground, slipped and ended up in a ravine 150 meters deep.
A citizen who was in the area rushed to help, as a result of which he slipped and ended up in the ravine.
The Police were called to the spot, where members of the Troodos and Platres Police Stations, using the crawler rescue vehicle, managed to free the children, who were transported to a safe place, where they were handed over to their guardians.
The citizen managed to climb the ravine before the arrival of the Police. There were no injuries from the incident.
