Around midnight today, a 29-year-old man was taken to the Emergency Department of Larnaca General Hospital, who suffered a serious injury to the palm of his left hand, as well as amputation of fingers.

According to the information under investigation, the 29-year-old was injured while trying to fire a firework, in an open space in a village of Larnaca province, when it exploded resulting in his serious injury. According to the acting doctor of the Hospital, the 29-year-old underwent pharyngeal amputation of the pharynx, small, middle and middle finger.

He was then transported by ambulance to a polyclinic in the Limassol district, where he is expected to undergo surgery. His state of health, according to doctors, is not a cause for concern.
