The Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health announces that it is investigating a possible case of coronavirus, which concerns a soldier, who was placed under restraint today, after he presented symptoms that indicate a respiratory infection.
According to the Ministry of Health, this is a young man from Greece, who recently visited his family and it is possible that he came in contact with a confirmed case. All the appropriate procedures have been activated and the competent services are on alert to manage the incident. The sample will be sent for analysis to the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics and relevant announcements will be made as soon as the results are known.
