Ministry of Agriculture: These are the measures to support farmers affected by the pandemic

Announcement from the Ministry of Agriculture on the support measure for farmers affected by the pandemic COVID-19

Following relevant decisions of the Council of Ministers and amendment of the Rural Development Program (RDP) 2014-2020, the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (Managing Authority RDP 2014-2020), announce the announcement of actions crop production of Measure 21 - Extraordinary temporary support for farmers and SMEs particularly affected by the pandemic crisis COVID-19.

Measure 21 aims to support farmers most affected by the pandemic COVID-19 with emphasis on professional farmers. The aid is provided in the form of a lump sum, per tenth of eligible area, as approved in the Single Area Aid Scheme for the year 2020. The maximum aid per beneficiary amounts to € 7000, in the whole Measure.

Eligible sectors of primary production:

  • Vegetables, herbs and strawberry
  • Watermelon cultivation
  • Olive cultivation (in areas with altitudes below 400 meters)
  • Permanent crops (in areas with an altitude of 400 meters or more)
  • Viticulture (wine, table and traditional varieties)

Further information on the participation criteria can be found in the Measure Manual. The application period is from 4/11/2020 – 17/11/2020. Applications will be submitted only electronically to the address  https://eas.capo.gov.cy to which interested applicants are invited to enter using their Passwords.

The application process is simplified and the transfer of the applicants to the District Offices of KOAP is not required, to avoid their inconvenience as well as for the smooth observance of the measures related to the pandemic.

The Passwords in the electronic application system have been sent to all applicants in the past by the Organization and applicants should retrieve these codes via the relevant mail or via the above email address.
