The vision of the government, the establishment and coordination of a multilateral body of expanded regional cooperation, with the participation of the Arab states, Israel and the Mediterranean countries of the European Union, said on Tuesday the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulidis.

He said that the goal of Nicosia is to become a protagonist and a connecting link in this process.

Referring to the results of the fifth Tripartite Summit of the Republic of Cyprus-Greece-Egypt, Mr. Kasoulidis said that the main axis of this cooperation is security and stability in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.
Especially for energy, the Foreign Minister said that there are already launched parallel procedures for trilateral cooperation with Lebanon and Italy. He said that a quadripartite meeting of the Ministers of Energy of Cyprus-Greece-Italy-Egypt will be held soon, for the planned infrastructure of the East-Med Highlight.

Regarding the Ankara-Tel Aviv consultations for the creation of a gas pipeline from the Israeli site "Leviathan", which will pass through Turkey to Europe, Ioannis Kasoulidis said that it is not yet possible to predict whether they will reach a result. He stressed, however, that without a solution to the Cyprus problem, there can be no such cooperation, which includes Cyprus.
