A bilateral military cooperation program was signed by Defense Minister Christofors Fokaidis and Jordanian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mahmoud Freihat.
The Minister of Defense described Jordan as a friendly country - a key for Cyprus in its cooperation in the wider region.
He said the signing of the Bilateral Military Cooperation Program implements practical actions to make cooperation with Jordan even more fruitful for the mutual benefit of the two countries in various areas, such as joint exercises, training and other programs to address common threats.
Mahmoud Freihat referred to Jordan's efforts to fight terrorism and the fact that he is one of the founding members of the international coalition against the Islamic State.
The commander of the Jordanian armed forces was received by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis.
