The government is stepping up its efforts on the issue of missing persons

The Government will intensify its coordinated and organized efforts in all directions, with the main goal of convincing Turkey to assume its responsibilities and cooperate by providing the Missing Persons Commission (CMC) with all the information and data from the Turkish military archives. both for mass graves and for bone movements, as well as for unhindered and unconditional access to exhumations, but also for searches for the existence of burial sites.

This is stated in a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic on the Day of the Missing, which adds that the President of the Republic and the Government assure, once again, that they will continue to support the work of the CMP with all their might and with all possible way.
The Day of the Missing, it is reported, is a day of remembrance for the missing of the Cypriot tragedy, but also of responsibility towards their relatives and loved ones who experience daily and the torment of uncertainty for so many decades.
"Resolving this humanitarian issue has been and is a top priority for the Government and today demands, more than ever, to continue the fight to determine the fate of all our missing persons. Time passes, unfortunately, at the expense of finding our missing persons and therefore, on the occasion of today, the President of the Republic reiterates his call to those who have any information about possible burial places of missing persons, to share this information with the competent Services, in order to facilitate the work of the CMP ”, it is stated.
The announcement also notes that the struggle to determine the fate of our last missing person is long and difficult, but in this effort we are all united, State and people, until this humanitarian drama is fully resolved.
