The Ministry of the Interior announces that the Offices of the District Administrations of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta (Paralimni office) will remain open and will receive applications for registration in the electoral rolls, statements for voting in a polling station abroad and responsible statements from Turkish Cypriots for correction of their address in the Population Register system, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 8.00 a.m. until 2.00 p.m.

Also on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, the last day for registering in the electoral rolls and submitting a declaration for voting abroad, all local District Administration Offices, Citizen Service Centers and the Elections Service at the Ministry of the Interior will be open until 5 p.m. .m..Responsible declarations from Turkish Cypriots to correct their address will also be accepted at the various crossing points from the occupied territories to the free areas of the Republic, until the above time. Electronic submission of an application for registration in the electoral rolls, as well as electronic submission of a statement to vote in a polling center abroad, will be possible until midnight on April 2, 2024.

It is recalled that in the upcoming elections for the nomination of Members of the European Parliament and Local Government Authorities, all citizens of the Republic aged 18 and over who have their habitual residence in Cyprus, as well as citizens of other member states of the European Union who reside in Cyprus, have the right to vote. Cyprus and are registered in the relevant electoral rolls. The last day to submit applications is Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Therefore, those who have not yet been registered in the electoral rolls are invited to submit an application in time so that they can exercise their right to vote. After the above date no new registration and/or change can be made in the electoral rolls.

Young people who will turn 18 by June 9, 2024, the date of the elections, i.e. those born before June 9, 2006, also have the right to be registered in the electoral rolls. In this case, the application should also be submitted before and necessarily no later than April 2, 2024.

For citizens up to the age of 25, applications can be submitted online via the elections website at elections.gov.cy. The applications in paper form are submitted to the local Offices of the District Administrations, Citizen Service Centers (KEP) and Citizen Centers (KE.PO.-Cyprus Post Offices). Application forms can be obtained from the above points, as well as from the Home Office Elections Service and the elections website.

In relation to the polling centers abroad, it is recalled that for the elections to nominate Members of the European Parliament only, polling centers will operate abroad, specifically in Greece, the United Kingdom and Belgium, for voters who are already registered in the electoral roll or will be registered until on April 2, 2024. In order to enable the operation of polling centers abroad, a special electoral roll is drawn up, in which the details of registered voters are transferred from the permanent electoral roll of Cyprus, following a relevant declaration submitted by the interested parties. Electoral centers abroad, according to the existing electoral legislation, may only operate in those cities where the number of voters who will submit a relevant declaration exceeds fifty (50).

For this purpose, voter book holders who wish to exercise their right to vote abroad can submit a declaration no later than April 2, 2024. The declaration can be submitted either electronically on the elections website at elections.gov .cy, or in paper form, by filling in the relevant form, which is also available on the elections website, and submitting it to the Embassies/Consulates of the Republic abroad, the local Offices of the Provincial Administrations, the Citizen Service Centers (CSCs) , the Citizen Centers (C.P.O.) of the Cyprus Post Office and the Elections Service of the Ministry of the Interior.
