The first visit of a German President to Cyprus is over

Visits to the Reception and Hospitality Center for Applicants for International Protection in Kofinou, to the High School in Platis Aglantzias and to the village of Lefkara are included in today's program of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who concludes his historic official visit to Cyprus in the early afternoon.

According to the program of his visit, in the morning he will visit the High School of Archbishop Makarios III in Platis Aglantzias and attend the pilot German learning program. The General Director of the Ministry, Marina Ioannou Hassapi, will be present on behalf of the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michailidou.

Afterwards, the German President will visit the Reception and Hospitality Center for International Protection Applicants in Kofinou, accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou. Mr. Steinmeier will be briefed by the Minister of the Interior and will be guided around the site. Also, the German President will have the opportunity to talk with residents and staff of the Center.

Afterwards, he will go to the village of Lefkara, where he will be guided, and at noon he will have lunch with the President of the Republic in Kato Dry before departing from Cyprus.
