President Anastasiadis gave the assurance that he will not abandon the effort to resolve the Cyprus problem, which is sustainable and functional and to be accepted by the Greek Cypriots.
Speaking at the annual national memorial of Kyriakos Matsis, in Palaichori, the President of the Republic stressed that he knows the limits that can lead to compromise, but also what the people want.
The aim of the negotiations in Switzerland, he said, was an agreement that would lead to a solution plan, which would preserve the dignity of the Cypriot Hellenism, create the conditions for the Greek Cypriots to accept the solution, secure their concerns and respect their concerns of the Turkish Cypriots.
"Unfortunately," said President Anastasiadis, "despite the constructive proposals made at the conference and the good efforts made, Turkey has insisted on maintaining guarantees and invasive rights and remains the occupier army."
