The government is closely monitoring Turkey's actions in the occupied territories, taking the necessary measures and moving within the framework of international legitimacy in a way that does not allow Ankara to create new accomplishments, assured Michalis Sophocleous, director of the Office of the President of the Republic .
In statements on the RIK show "From Day to Day" and asked to comment on the decision of the so-called cabinet of the pseudo-state to open part of the enclosed area of Famagusta for the construction of a marina for tourist purposes, Mr. Sophocles said that so far none of his occupation regime has not been transformed into practice.
Commenting on a recent provocative report by the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister that Ankara would not allow anyone to damage even a hair of Turkish Cypriot hair, Mr. Sophocles noted that Turkish officials often make contradictory statements.
