Jeep, which completes 80 years of presence, unveiled the brand new Grand Cherokee, which hopefully reached its 5th generation and for the first time in its history will have an electrified version. At the same time it bids in relation to the model it replaces in all its areas. From technology and assistance systems to luxury and off-road capabilities.
Externally, the new Grand Cherokee is even more dynamic thanks to its larger tracks, while at the same time it is more aerodynamic. Two versions are available, a five-seater with a length of 4,91 meters and a wheelbase of 2.960 millimeters and a seven-seater -the Grand Cherokee L- with a length of 5,20 meters and a wheelbase of 3.090 millimeters, while in both the rims can have a diameter of up to 21 inches.
In the brand new interior there are a total of three high definition screens that exceed a total of 30,5 inches, while the seats can be adjusted to 16 points, massage function and heating / cooling option comfort levels. At the same time, the Uconnect 5 multimedia system with the wireless mirroring function and the compatibility with 5G networks provides a very good connection while there is the possibility of simultaneous wireless charging of two smartphones. A premium McIntosh 950 W audio system is also available.
The total space available for passengers exceeds 4 square meters, the luggage space reaches 1.000 liters, while special attention, always according to the American company, has been given to the passengers of the second and third series.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee is powered by the Pentastar V6 of 3.600 cubic meters that produces 293 hp, as well as the V8 of 5,7 liters and 357 hp, while the interest in Europe in general and in our country in particular will be monopolized by the plug-in 4xe hybrid version, with the two-liter turbo and two electric motors with a combined output of 357 hp and 637 Nm.
The system allows electric propulsion for about 40 km, while for four-wheel drive there is the Quadra Trac II with short ratios and active transmission system that transmits torque to the wheel with the best traction. There is also the active Jeep Quadra-Lift suspension, which ensures the others offer the longest ground clearance in the category (28,7 cm) and 61 cm deep water passage.
Finally, the top Selec-Terrain traction management system has 5 options (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud / Sand) and ensures the ideal settings in all systems (engine, transmission, braking system, etc.) of the car depending on the conditions.
