TZVI POGHAL, a 68-year-old visitor from Israel, was killed in a second fatal road accident half an hour after midnight today.
According to the information under investigation, while the 68-year-old was driving his electric scooter in the direction from Ayia Napa to Ayia Thekla, under conditions that are being investigated, he collided with a car driven by a 26-year-old.
The 68-year-old was thrown from the collision and fell to the ground, while an ambulance was called, which transported him to the Emergency Department of the Famagusta General Hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed his death.
The 26-year-old underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive result in amphetamines.
The Famagusta Traffic Police is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
