Floods, accumulation of water on the road network and mainly on the highway was the situation that was created last night due to the prolonged rains that started in the early afternoon in the whole province of Famagusta.

Part of the A3 highway (Larnaca - Ayia Napa) remained closed for several hours due to the accumulation of large amounts of water which flowed from the area east of the community of Xylofagos in the direction of Sotira passing through the highway.
The quantities of water were very large and in fact at some point, in the area of the river Liopetri, the water literally passed through a house which is located in the area.
Both the yard and the interior of the house were flooded with the owners unable to intervene.
