28 beaches of Famagusta on the list of suitable for swimming (List)

Following the completion of the public consultation, an updated list of swimming water areas for the year 2019 has been made public.

The list includes 28 beaches in Free Famagusta, 23 in Larnaca, 28 in Limassol, 27 in Paphos and 3 in Nicosia.

The three beaches in the Nicosia area are in Kato Pyrgos and Pigienia.

Areas that have been included are areas where a large number of bathers are expected to attend, as determined by the competent authority, especially taking into account the trends that have emerged in the past or any infrastructure or facilities provided or other measures taken to promote swimming. .

According to a relevant announcement, relayed by GTP, the purpose and goal of the public consultation was to give the interested public the opportunity to be informed and to make recommendations, remarks or even complaints about the list of swimming water areas.

Finally, it is noted that in the context of updating the list of swimming areas for the year 2019, the Department of the Environment received requests to add new swimming areas, which were not accepted, as the required data were not submitted.
