The Municipality of Paralimni continues for the third year the "Mosaic of Civilizations" Program

The Municipality of Paralimni undertook for the third consecutive year to implement as a final beneficiary the Integration Program From Local Authorities "Mosaic of Cultures".

A press release of the Municipality of Paralimni states that "the corporate scheme is completed by the Municipalities of Ayia Napa, Deryneia, Sotiras and the consulting company Enoros Consulting Ltd, while the goal of the project is the integration of Third Country Nationals (YTX) in the socio-economic fabric of Eparchos ».

It is added that the "Mosaic of Civilizations" project supports the process of integration of the HCCs in the Cypriot society, contributing to the promotion of social cohesion and the prevention of social exclusion. More specifically, the program includes a series of multidimensional actions that aim at the active participation and activation of local authorities and bodies in the process of integration of IDPs and offers services and opportunities for socialization and interaction of immigrants with local communities.

The services and activities of the program "include training and education courses, social support and social orientation programs, intercultural / artistic events, actions to develop a sense of acceptance and understanding of citizens in diversity, actions of exchange of views and know-how, first aid courses, custody courses child and elderly care, computer learning, art, and creating a service guide ".

According to the press release, "all FTAs ​​with a legal residence and work permit in Cyprus, those FTAs ​​enjoying refugee status or subsidiary / temporary protection status and those FTAs ​​who are resettled or have been resettled or relocated or transferred from another EU Member State have the right to participate" .

The program covers the geographical boundaries of the participating Municipalities and local communities throughout the free Province of Famagusta and is co-financed by 90% from the European Asylum, Immigration and Integration Fund and by 10% from the Republic of Cyprus. It has a total budget of € 126,466 and a duration of implementation until March 2019.
