The Mayor Theodoros Pyrillis characterized the granting of a permit for the construction of the Paralimni marina as an important event.

In his statements to KYPE, Mr. Pyrillis said that “the granting of the permit for the construction of the Paralimni marina by the District of Famagusta, is an important fact because the works for its construction begin and the project is now in the process of implementation. The construction works will start at the end of September in the fishing shelter of Agios Nikolaos, they are expected to be completed within three years, while the total cost is estimated to amount to around 150 million euros ".

Answering a relevant question, the Mayor said that “this project completes the national planning for the marinas in the free province of Famagusta. The combination of the marina of Paralimni and that of Ayia Napa will give great value to the name, but also to the services that the area will offer, while all these actions will bring more jobs, development and increase of the living standard of the inhabitants of the area ". .

Asked whether there will be competition between the marinas of Ayia Napa and Paralimni, Theodoros Pyrillis said that “the demand for berths in the free province of Famagusta is so great that at the end of the day the two marinas may not be enough. At the moment, there are many boats in the area and the need for mooring boats is constantly increasing ".

He added that "every development project created in the free area of ​​Famagusta contributes to improving the quality of life and the well-being of the citizen."

Mr. Pyrillis also said that “in the Municipality is planned the execution of projects over 50 million euros, including the urban planning project of Kapparis, Paralimni Square, the coastal pedestrian street and the multi-storey car park. These projects are expected to give a special impetus to the free area of ​​Famagusta and will leave an indelible mark on the quality of life of the citizens ".

It is reminded that the Paralimni marina will include 102 apartments, 7 penthouses, 10 two-storey penthouses and 4 villas, reception areas and waterfront with pool and gardens, mooring area for 300 boats, Yacht club with private suites, landscaping in public areas and public areas. bars, cafes and restaurants, a state-of-the-art health center and gym, boutiques and shops, a coastal park with access to the sea and parking, as well as a special program of events.

It is noted that by letter dated 13 August 2020 to the company PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd the Famagusta District Administration informs that it "grants the permit to build the projects in the area of ​​Marina Paralimni that was declared by the decree of the Council of Ministers as shown in the submitted plans and were approved ”.

It is added that "the terms of the town planning authority apply and apply, including the terms of the opinion of the Director of the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, as well as the terms / opinions of the Director of the Department of Public Works".
