The works for the construction of the Social Benefits Center of the Municipality of Sotiras have started.
Construction work began on January 29 and continues at an intensive pace by the project consortium, "S. Hadjichristofi Construction Ltd and Stavros Andronikou & Sons Constructions Ltd ", Antonis Andronikou".
For this purpose, a meeting was held at the construction site by the Mayor Sotiras Mr. Georgios Takkas, the responsible Civil Engineers and the Contractor of the project.
The project will be erected opposite the Sotiras City Hall on Ilia Tilavgi Street and is estimated to be completed in the summer of 2019.
The estimated value of the project is 1.4 million euros. It is financed by one third by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the Republic of Cyprus and the Municipality of Sotiras, while the contracting authority is the District Administration of Famagusta.
The Center will include, among other things, event and conference facilities, ballrooms, computers, painting and sculpture, a reading room, a cafeteria and a restaurant, which will be able to employ both young and old people.
The Sotiras Social Benefit Center is a result of the announcements of the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis for projects in the Municipality of Sotiras and is among the 14 projects recently announced by the Minister of Interior Konstantinos Petridis for rural development and infrastructure, amounting to € 9,4 million. framework of the Rural Development program with utilization of funds from the EU.
