to 4248After the impressive Grand Prix of Monaco and the scandal of the secret -illegal- tests of Mercedes and Ferrari with the new tires of Pirelli that shook the waters of Formula 1, the championship continues in Canada (7-9 / 6).

The seventh round of the season takes place in Montreal and more specifically on the artificial island in the riverbed of St. Lawrence. Pilots will run for the second time in a row on public roads.

Teams and pilots in Friday's free practice will have at their disposal two new sets of Pirelli new tires, while for the race the pilots will run with the middle and the middle and the very soft eraser, unlike last season, where they "wore" the soft and the very soft.

The tires will once again play a leading role, as the wear of the tires will determine the strategies of the teams.

A few words about the circuit…

The track in Canada has its own peculiarities… as it combines elements from the two most impressive circuits of the championship, such as the speed of Monza and the… walls / barriers of Monaco.

In the next three days, the engineers have a lot of work to do, since they have to set up the cars with the most correct aerodynamic package.

The two moving airfield activation zones, DRS, are returning to Canada.

The main features of the track are the long straight and slow turns, with the cars demanding impeccable behavior of their brakes, as from 300 km per hour they fall directly to 120 km.

High vertical force does not create a competitive advantage, while regression becomes a habit for pilots.

The Canadian track consists of 14 turns, six clockwise and eight counterclockwise. The pilots will cover 305.270 kilometers, turning the track 70 kilometers 4.631 times.

The maximum speed of the cars is 315 km / h, just before the finish line, while the turn 10 is the slowest, as the pilots enter at 56 km / h. The most difficult turn is the ninth, in which the pilots receive forces of 3.59 G.

Numbers…

Lewis Hamilton climbed the first step of the podium last year. Since 2000 the pilot with the most victories is Michael Schumacher taking the checkered flag four times.
