Battle of "eternals" with the Cup in the background

For the fifth consecutive year, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos will resolve their differences in the final of the Greek Cup, which will be held today (10/03, 18.30) at Elliniko. The "eternals" count from two victories, with Piraeus having celebrated the conquest of the trophy in the last two years…

Both opponents will have on their side the support of just 900 of their fans, as has happened in previous years, in the police effort to maintain control, avoiding scenes that do not honor the history of either the institution or the teams. The "eternals", in a joint statement, asked their people to guard the final, which should be a celebration for basketball and not a war in the stands.

The real interest, of course, is focused on the floor and of course the huge duel of the benches between Zeljko Obradovic and Dusan Ivkovic. Panathinaikos and Olympiakos have shared the victories in their matches this year (each won at home), although experts do not agree that today's (10/03) final will be a completely different matter.

Both Olympiacos and Panathinaikos rely heavily on their defensive performance, while in the offensive sector the European champions seem to excel in the set. On the other hand, Piraeus will try to run, with the intention of opening the rhythm and at the same time the score of the final. A big absence for the typical home team Olympiakos is Eisi Lo, who was left out of the mission, due to an injury to his left knee. Zeljko Obradovic does not face any problem since both Mike Batiste and Stratos Perperoglou trained normally for the last two days, putting themselves at his disposal.
